Justin Bieber TV performance canceled due to crowd concerns

Justin Bieber won't have an opportunity to promote "My Worlds" (the Australian version of his album) on TV, after all. Morning show Sunrise Channel 7 was forced to cancel the performance due to concerns in Sydney that the massive crowd present was getting out of control.

The show released the following statement on the matter:

"Global phenomenon Justin Bieber's only Australian public performance caused such an enormous crowd to descend on Sydney's Overseas Passenger Terminal that police had to cancel it due to safety concerns.

"As of 4.30am, Monday 26 April, the police shut the gates to the area and said that due to safety concerns no more fans would be permitted into the area.

"Around 5.20am, with the forecourt area at full capacity and fans still arriving, the police ordered Sunrise to cancel the performance."

We're still waiting for Bieber to speak out on the cancellation -- originally, Sunrise had announced that the "Baby" singer would perform behind a glass wall for his protection. However, Justin objected to this as it would separate him from the fans.

UPDATE (5:13 p.m. EST): Justin tweeted the following about the concert event:

"I love my fans....and I am just as disappointed as everyone else with the news from this morning. I want to sing for my fans"
