Justin Bieber was Canada’s top ranking touring artist in Pollstar’s Top 200 North American Tours.
According to an article posted yesterday at Pollstar.com, the Stratford, Ont. pop idol grossed $40.2 million to earn top Canadian honours and 11th place overall on the list.
The Biebs played 35 shows in 33 Canadian and U.S. cities in total last year with an average ticket price of $75.72 U.S. per ticket and an average gross per show of $1,217,217 U.S.
Other Canadian artists to make the Top 50 included: Celine Dion - 17th ($34.6), Drake - 19th ($32.0), Nickleback - 27th ($29.5), Rush – 33rd ($27.2), as well as Neil Young and Crazy Horse 43rd ($22.6).
Madonna earned grabbed top spot overall, grossing $133.7 million, followed by Cirque du Soleil – 2nd ($112.9), Bruce Springsteen – 3rd ($104.7), Kenny Chesney/Tim McGraw – 4th ($96.5) and Roger Waters – 5th ($90.2).
