Justin Bieber surpasses Lady Gaga for Twitter Guinness World Record (Video)

Justin Bieber has earned himself another Guinness World Record, surpassing Lady Gaga as the most followed user on Twitter, according to a Feb. 1, 2013 statement made by Guinness World Record officials.

The 18-year-old music phenomenon released his latest album, Believe Acoustic earlier this week. It is speculated that this album will reach the number 1 spot on the music charts, making for a fifth Bieber album to reach the top spot.

Bieber surpassed Lady Gaga’s 33,581,095 followers with a total of 33,682,239 when the record was updated. At the time of this writing, @justinbieber had 33,800, 337 followers and @ladygaga still resided in second place with 33,669,533 followers.

Bieber’s record for the YouTube video “baby” held the Guinness World record for most viewed video until last November when PSY's "Gangnam Style" overtook the teen’s YouTube record.

Bieber also holds a Guinness World Record for being the first solo artist with three number 1 albums before the age of 18.

It took a lot of Beliebers to make this record happen, 33,682,239 Beliebers to be exact.
