Justin Bieber's team up in arms, searches for leaker of pot-smoking photos

Now that Justin Bieber has had to apologize on Twitter -- purportedly for images showing him apparently smoking marijuana leaked to the press -- the hammer is about to fall. On Sunday, an insider (ironically, also leaking information) reported that the pop star's team "isn't happy about those photos. They are grilling security about who could have taken them."

As noted when the photos were leaked, there was plenty of security around on the day the photos were taken. None of them, however, seemed all thta concerned about the images that were being taken.

The pictures were reportedly taken during Jan. 2 gathering inside a hotel room in Newport Beach, Calif. Just one day prior, Chris Guerra, a paparazzo, was killed while attempting to photograph the Bieber's Ferrari during a routine CHP traffic stop in Los Angeles.

To be clear, Bieber was not in the car (reportedly, his BFF Lil Twist was the driver) and Guerra was not in pursuit of the car. However, and the connection with the pictures couldn't be more evident, Guerra had claimed to have seen Bieber smoking weed earlier in the day.

It's truly ironic that Guerra lost his life attempting to get pictures of Bieber smoking pot, and images of the singer doing so were leaked by someone partying with him.

It's possible that Guerra actually did see Bieber on New Year's Day smoking pot. Another Sunday report said that Bieber and Lil Twist spent a considerable amount of time together at the Four Seasons Hotel on that day, and that same report said that insiders are concerned that Twist:

... has become a powerful negative influence in his life and feel very strongly Justin needs a clean break from the rapper or else bad things are going to happen.

Both Bieber and his team want him to keep a clean image. In the June 2012 issue of GQ, Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, said Bieber goes to great lengths to maintain a squeaky clean image.

He knows that I hold him to a high standard. He doesn't want to blow it.
