On Sunday, January 22, 2012, a picture surfaced online that allegedly shows Justin Bieber at the Toronto Gay Pride Parade. The photo was taken while Bieber was a pre-teen. Although there hasn't been confirmation from his camp that the photo is authentic, the resemblance is uncanny.
MediaTakeOut.com reported: "The . . . photo was taken in 2006. It shows Justin Bieber at the Toronto Gay Pride Parade. That ain't [sic] no place for a child . . ." Poor grammar aside, it isn't really up to MTO to decide whether the parade was an appropriate activity for young Bieber.
Justin Bieber will turn 18 years old on March 1, 2012. That means he would have been 12 years old when the picture was taken. His mother Pattie Mallette was standing right behind him when the photo was snapped, so it isn't like young Bieber was unsupervised. It doesn't really matter why Bieber and his mother were there. Justin Bieber's mother should be commended for taking him to a Gay Pride Parade. Maybe they were passing through on their way somewhere. Maybe Bieber was a scheduled performer. Maybe they just like parades or they believe in supporting their fellow Canadians, whatever their sexual orientation.
Gather.com aptly described the photo: "Sporting a loose blue, tie dye tee-shirt and his soon to be famous signature hair cut, JB looks adorable, if somewhat bewildered by the sights and sounds of the parade. In fact, both he and Pattie look a little overwhelmed trying to take it all in. And speaking of Pattie, she looks almost young enough to be a teenager herself--more like his big sister than his mom."
