As a mother of the most famous pop-star on the planet, Pattie Malette has a tough job. Not only does she have to keep herself in the positive light of the media, but she is constantly faced with questions about her adult son, Justin Beiber's behavior. According to People.com on August 19, 2013, Malette stated she will not be "that mom" who discuses her son's behavior to media.
Justin Beiber turned 18 years old well over a year ago. Now a legal adult, his mother has very little control over him. However, nosy interviewers continue to ask mom about what some see as controversial behavior.
Unfortunately these questions are coming up all to frequently. Anyone who is a parent is well aware that there is only so much one can do to control behavior in a young child - let alone an adult child.
Malette is currently doing a press tour for the recently released teen edition of her New York Times bestseller 'Nowhere but Up: The Story of Justin Bieber's Mom'. Malette claims she keeps focused on her purpose, which is to help teens who face bullying, depression and anxiety.
Recent controversy for Justin Beiber included late showings to concerts and the Anne Frank mishap. When Beiber visited the Anne Frank museum, he simply signed a note stating,
"Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber."
Of course people flew off the handle. While many were claiming his remarks were inappropriate, he was only referring to the observations made from reading her diaries - her love of pop music of her time.
It sounds like Pattie Malette will have to continue to endure these questions as Justine Bieber will always be her son. While the population of Beliebers is strong, there will always be haters who blow the story out of proportion. It just appears Biebs is acting like a normal 19-year-old.
Stay tough Pattie!
