Justin Bieber photographer killed snapping Ferrari traffic stop pictures

2013 has started off with a media frenzy, but for one paparazzi the outcome was fatal. A photographer who was attempting to get some exclusive pictures of pop idol, 18-year-old Justin Bieber's Ferrari was reported on Tuesday, Jan 1. to have been hit and killed by another driver according to TMZ reports.

The celebrity news site stated that Justin Bieber was not driving the sports car at the time of the accident. The California Highway Patrol reports state that Bieber's white Ferrari was pulled over for a routine traffic stop on New Year's Day on Sepulveda Blvd, near Getty Center in L.A.

The police reports also reveal that Justin Bieber was not even in the car at the time of the incident,but that one of Justin's friends was driving the Ferrari with another pal in the passenger seat.

TMZ reported that at the time of the accident a paparazzo who had been following Justin Bieber's Ferrari at the time of the pull over attempted to a few exclusive pictures while officers conducted the traffic stop ,until California Highway Patrol advised the photographer to move back because the situation was unsafe.

At some point, we're told the paparazzo was hit by an oncoming vehicle and killed.

The sites sources claim that drugs and alcohol were not a factor for the driver of the vehicle that hit the photographer.

The LAPD are currently investigating the incident. This is not the first time that the paparazzi have had some serious and potentially dangerous run ins with Justin Bieber while attempting to catch the perfect photo op including a high speed car chase in July.

Authorities have not released the name of the photographer, but Justin Bieber released a statement after hearing the tragic news stating,"While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim,"

"Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves."
