At times like these, it must be hard to be Justin Bieber. It seems that everyone wants to mooch off of him. He is in hot water again with more legal action, this time over a nerf gun. Bieber is being sued for assault by an Ottawa security guard after being hit with a nerf bullet while he played with his siblings before a show; a stray bullet striking the security guard.
The supposed "assault" took place last November before a concert in Ottawa. With the paternity suit, the case with his former bodyguard Moshe Benabou, and now assault with a nerf gun; it seems that Bieber is the person to sue as of late. There was even a lawsuit where a woman claimed that Bieber damaged her hearing. This case has since been dropped. However, it's reported that the Canadian Police are taking this latest investigation very seriously.
When lawsuits such as this arise, we have to wonder what people are thinking. Is a nerf bullet really so damaging that it requires a police report and a lawsuit? At some point, people need to step back and ask if what they're doing is really needed. With everything you hear in the news, it seems like this world has gotten sue happy. If there is a person or corporation with money, people act like they deserve a piece of the pie. So now we look for any reason we can find to get our cut. This usually results in a lawsuit while hoping for a settlement.
For those that haven't noticed the running trend, here is a list of ten frivolous, or perhaps money grabbing, lawsuits. Sadly, a number of these ended with monetary payouts.
Justin Bieber was last in Kansas City at the Sprint Center in October.
Do you think that Bieber is at fault for a nerf gun assault? How do you feel about suits such as this?
