It seems that Bieber is not having a whole lot of luck in London this tour. First there was the nine hour long tweet about his prank of an outfit. Then the "worst birthday" after problems with the club where his birthday bash was planned. The most recent loss of luck includes being booed at his O2 Arena concert, as he shows up two hours late.
What would you do if you were a ticket holder and the performer was two hours late? You may do what some parents did, pack up their disappointed, crying, tired and troubled tweens and teens and go home. After three warm up acts, Cody Simpson, Jaden Smith and Carly Rae Jepson, it is reported that fans were left listening to Micheal Jackson's greatest hits for approximately 45 minutes.
What was the delay? No one knows. The venue Tweeted out an apology while the delay occurred. Bieber's tweets up until the event were upbeat and advised fans to "get ready." However, he shows up at the approximate time that his performance was about to end.
Why did the fans boo? His lateness was considered "disrespectful" and "disgusting." One fan tweeted "Someone needs to buy Justin Bieber an alarm clock - or give him a boot up the bum. 90 minutes late on stage on O2 on a school night... poor."
John Aizlewood in the Evening Standard newspaper said Bieber had shown contempt for young fans, leaving them "exhausted, disillusioned and probably late for school this morning." It wasn't just the lateness of the hour. Due to his poor time management skills some fans missed the show entirely. Others were left stranded as they left the concert long after the trains quit running.
With no on-stage apology, Bieber takes to the Twitterverse calling on "technical difficulties" and stating,
tonight we will run on time and look forward to putting on an amazing show for everyone in attendance. my relationship with the media is not always easy but im trying. Im all about the music and the performance and i respect my fans. ...i never have any intent to upset or let anyone down. and Im not okay with things being exaggerated. once again sorry for anyone upset. NIGHT 2 at the 02 is gonna be even better. get ready. thanks"
It better be because he has three more nights at this venue and last night's performance left lots of empty seats.
