Pop superstar and still going strong, Justin Bieber killed it on this past weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live. We recollect him showing off his acting chops on some other sets, including SNL in years past, and the reviews – well, they weren’t so great. This year; however, things were different.
The reviews were great and Bieber showed some true acting talent! Maybe he needed to grow into it, but it was there. The skits were funny (most of them) and he had terrific chemistry with the SNL cast. His opening monologue was flawless as if he had been doing this kind of thing forever.
The funniest skit was when Bieber was attempting to hold back his laughter when another SNL actor was screaming in his face, "GLICE!" Hysterical to watch! The “Miley Cyrus Show,” “Body Doubles,” and “Nerd” skits were hysterical too and Bieber really let it all out putting aside all inhibitions to act truly silly on stage. He was a true sport poking fun at himself and seemingly enjoying the whole experience.
Part of the fictitious “Miley Cyrus Show” skit included this line by Bieber:
“I also heard he got busted for smoking weed and he’s really sorry about it and people make mistakes and he’s never gonna do it again,” Justin said.
“Yeah, right. Me too,” answered “Miley.”
We cannot leave out JB’s impeccable performances singing on the stage. Bieber performed an amazing acoustic version of “As Long As You Love Me” and then later a very heartwarming “Nothing Like Us,” which was said to allegedly be for his now ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. The microphone slowly lowered from the ceiling and it was another heart stopping performance for Bieber fans. Both were amazing performances by Bieber -- like always!
Love him or hate him – we don’t care. The bottom line is that for years now, Bieber has had the most loyal fans and as his fame continues to grow as does his popularity and the love that he receives. That is just enough to off-set the haters. So haters – do what you do best because it does not affect this go-getter named Justin Bieber.
Some still may say Justin Bieber still cannot act, but others disagree. Isn’t that what life is all about anyway? Bravo Justin! Maybe there is an acting career just waiting to happen for you! You never know!
