Justin Bieber is being hit with criminal charges over the egg throwing scandal

It appears Justin Bieber simply can't get a break in life these days in spite of his fame and enormous wealth. The infamous egg throwing incident which appeared to be a scandal of the past has surfaced with news the DA in Los Angeles is planning to file criminal charges against him reported TMZ on June 17, 2014. It is not clear yet whether this charge is a misdemeanor or felony charge.

It is said the prosecutor who investigated this case said to the victim that if this isn't a felony well than nothing is. The neighbor has estimated damages of around $20K from the egging. The DA's office claims there's a lot of evidence Bieber did the egging. A video taken by the victim although dark is said to show Bieber at the scene of the egging. And a surveillance video seized from Bieber apparently shows him doing the egging.

Bieber is really facing the possibility of a felony charge over alleged egg throwing at a previous neighbors home in California reports
the Toronto Star. It once appeared for certain if charges were filed in this case Bieber would get away with a misdemeanor charge, but now nobody is really certain about that.

Careful consideration of this case leads to a realization that $20K in damages is a lot of money for a lot of people in view of how expensive living in America is these days during economic hard times. However, in consideration of the fact that nobody was hurt in this incident it appears everyone should take it easy with Bieber if in fact he is really guilty of the egg throwing.

Although he certainly has the money to settle for the damages some people might argue it's not right to accept a financial settlement
because that's not fair to a poor person hit with a vandalism charge who can't afford a settlement. Nevertheless, to turn considerations of human decency around and persecute someone with cruel and unusual punishment simply because they are fortunate enough to be wealthy does not bring the American justice system any closer to being civilized.

There are also of course some other thoughts worth considering here such as if this incident really occurred as the prosecutors are now insisting, what is Bieber's side of the story. It is not clear what really happened between him and his old neighbor which could have lead to such an incident. Perhaps someone called his on again off again charming girlfriend Selena Gomez a tramp.

It appears reasonable to assume there may have been some inciting events involved which would change the color of this incident in the minds of a jury. With these considerations in mind Bieber really shouldn't be crucified in the eyes of humanity over all of this. If that continues in the press it will be very hard for him to have a fair day in court which he deserves.
