Justin Bieber suffered a shortness of breath while performing at the O2 arena in London Thursday night, some even saying he may have passed out. Justin walked off stage with help and was treated backstage with oxygen. Bieber, 19, was supposedly advised to go immediately to the hospital, but the singer insisted he, “had to finish the show for his fans”, according to TMZ. But some are crying foul today, claiming it was either faked altogether or hyped up to counter the bad press he's been getting while across the pond.
Justin’s manager Scooter Braun took to the stage to announce to the crowd that, “Justin's got very light breath. The whole show he’s been complaining, He’s backstage with the EMTs and the doctor”.
Justin did return to the stage after being treated backstage for about 15 minutes. Biebs finished out the concert, to a huge ovation of course, and was then transported to a London hospital for treatment.
Today the Mirror is reporting that the Twitter-verse is full of doubters, who are wondering whether the health scare was faked in order to overshadow the bad press he received earlier.
Monday Justin was roundly booed for being what many concertgoers claim was two hours late for his young fans. Bieber tweeted apologies to them and their angry parents, since many left before the singer even took to the stage.
The Friday before, Justin was also mired in controversy after “whining” about how bad his birthday sucked. Bieber allegedly was denied access to the London club he wanted to celebrate in due to underage members of his posse.
As for his health scare last night, cynics assert that only pre-teens would be “gullible enough to buy it”. Critics accused the “Baby” singer of using the incident as a publicity stunt to turn public favor in his direction following the earlier bad press.
One tweeter wrote, “PR stunt Conveniently days from the bad press for failing to arrive on time But the gullible 12 year olds will buy it”. Another posted, “Unless Bieber dies I am going to assume this ‘collapse’ is a PR stunt to mitigate/consolidate on his lateness PR earlier this week”.
A source close to Justin claims he was “just very tired from a long week” and was in hospital “for precautionary reasons”. Bieber did manage to send out an Instagram photo of himself sans shirt of course, as he lay in his hospital bed.
The Atlantic Wire reports that one person tweeted they believe this collapse was because he’s “doing drugs or something”, another wrote, “Bieber can't even keep a f--king shirt on in the HOSPITAL”. Still one more summed it up with, “justin bieber only fainted cause he saw his reflection”.
It’s only fair to point out, this isn’t the first time the Canadian star has collapsed on stage during a performance. He suffered a concussion during a concert in Paris last June after he fell into a glass wall, and vomited onstage in Arizona last September.
Of course, after Bieber’s recent scandal involving pot smoking pictures, you can’t help but make the connection that if the breathing difficulties are true, it could be from that.
