Justin Bieber has been busted for a DUI

Justin Bieber has become the center of another scandal, this time involving a DUI bust in Miami. He was just recovering from the egg throwing scandal in Los Angeles when news hit the livewire that cops in Miami picked him up on DUI charges. Bieber was arrested in Miami and reportedly told cops he had consumed some alcohol, and taken marijuana and prescription medication, reported People on Jan. 23, 2014.

The arrest has been confirmed by the Miami Beach police on Twitter. Local media reports have said the 19 year old superstar had just left a club on Lincoln Road when he was pulled over for speeding and failed a field sobriety test. A source has said he was in custody at the time of this news break. The Miami police say Bieber was pulled over for allegedly drag-racing with another vehicle, and that the officer "smelled odor of alcoholic beverage" on him. The police claim he also resisted arrest.

At the time he was picked up by police in Miami Bieber was driving a rented yellow Lamborghini, reports Fox News. The driver of a second car which was also pulled over, R&B singer Khalil Sharief, was also arrested. Bieber was booked at Miami-Dade County jail and bail was set at $2,500. In his mug shot, which the police released, Bieber was smiling for the camera. Police say he was at first a little belligerent with questions about why he had been stopped, and than at the police station he became cooperative.

The snowballing of problems which Bieber has been confronted with are getting dangerous. It appears he needs a really good and understanding lawyer now. And as soon as his lawyer can untangle his legal mess it appears it would be in his best interest to consider a really long relaxing vacation in some quiter beach community where he could spend more time swimming and relaxing in the sunshine and less time drinking in nightclubs.

The final choice is of course at this time up to Bieber, but with his health, freedom and his life really on the line, it simply seems aside from the legal problems he is presently encountering, he may be confronted with potentially deadly health problems if he keeps drinking and doing drugs. Or, he could even end up in jail. Let's all pray he can get himself together before even greater catastrophe strikes.
