Justin Bieber's hair sold for $40,668 on EBay today (March 2). Just last week Justin Bieber presented a plastic encased, autographed, swath of his hair to Ellen DeGeneres for her to auction off for charity.
Just yesterday, the hair was only up to $12,000, but bidding was fast and furious (which is often the case on EBay) at the last minute. Bieber's hair going for more than $40K means that a great charity gets a little help. The proceeds of the auction are going to a charity called the Gentle Barn. The organization helps rescue, rehab and give sanctuary to abused animals. Gentle Barn also teaches children through interaction with the animals.
As for Justin's other non-hair related fundraiser, 'My Charity: Water,’ Bieber is now up to nearly $45,000 on a goal of $17,000 to help provide clean drinking water to the underprivileged. This campaign, in honor of Justin's 17th birthday, continues for another 86 days.
