Justin Bieber has been snubbed at both the 2012 and 2013 Grammy Awards, which has caused no end to fan angst. Sunday night, though, one of the artists who took home a boatload of Grammys chimed in, saying Bieber deserved it -- the snub, that is.
Patrick Carney from The Black Keys said it (embedded video): Justin Bieber has no business being nominated or winning Grammy Awards, at least in his humble opinion. Swarmed by fans outside the Chateau Marmont Sunday night, when asked if Justin Bieber should feel snubbed, since he didn't get a single Grammy nomination this year -- or last -- Carney replied simply, "He's rich, right?"
He added, "Grammys are for like music, not for money ... and he's making a lot of money. He should be happy."
Meanwhile, of course, The Black Keys took home four Grammys on Sunday night. That makes seven Grammy Awards total for the group.
Meanwhile, Justin Bieber has been nominated twice for Grammy Awards, for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album, back in 2011. He didn't win either, though, and has not been nominated since.
He has won seven American Music Awards, but those awards are, as most will admit, a popularity contest. When he won in 2012, he said, "This is for all the haters who thought I'd be around for 1, 2 years. I feel like I'm gonna be here for a very long time."
