A young fan of pop star Justin Bieber died one year ago Tuesday after a bout with brain cancer.
Avalanna Routh was nicknamed “Mrs. Bieber” due to her love for the Canadian superstar. Routh was diagnosed with AT/RT, an incurable brain cancer that eventually killed her.
A report by HollywoodLife on Thursday documented how Bieber and fans put out best wishes to the family of the young girl who became friends with the singer during her battle with the brain tumor.
Bieber posted about Routh on Wednesday.

According to the New York Daily News on, the young fan ended her battle with a form of brain cancer that affects mainly children on Sept.26 of last year
She gained national attention for her love of the singer after her family rallied to get the two to meet via a Facebook campaign.
The two eventually had a date in February wherein Bieber visited the 6-year-old in her hospital room at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and then flew her and her mother out to New York for cupcakes and photos with the two hugging.
Staff at the hospital new of Routh’s love for the 19-year-old and at one point organized a pretend wedding between her and a cardboard cutout.
Routh dealt with the disease since she was 18 months old.
The L.A. Times spoke with Dr. Charles Roberts from the hospital who worked with Routh and her condition over the last few years.
Aggressive treatment on the tumor allowed Routh to live longer than expected, but eventually stopped working.
"People are taking it very hard. We knew it was coming, but it's extremely sad,” he said.
