Justin Bieber: Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney 'should be slapped around' (Video)

After Patrick Carney of The Black Keys took a jab at Justin Bieber on Sunday evening during a quick interview, Bieber returned the favor in kind.

When asked, Carney told photographers that Bieber didn't really deserve a Grammy. "He's rich, right? Grammys are for, like, music, not for money ... and he's making a lot of money," he said about Bieber's lack of a Grammy nomination.

"He should be happy."

Bieber clearly was not, however.

On Tuesday, Bieber took to Twitter to vent his frustration.

"the black keys drummer should be slapped around haha," he tweeted.

By mid-evening, the comment had been re-tweeted almost 40,000 times by Bieber fans, and ignited a Twitter war between them and Carney.

Carney had tweeted a comment earlier with a possibly apologetic tone: "It's cool when you get cornered outside your hotel by a guy with a camera and they ask you a dumb question and then put it on TV."

Then later, he retweeted Bieber's comment, along with a sad emoticon.

Since then, his Twitter feed has exploded with a variety of feedback, prompting him to comment with phrases like, "Here we go again," (also with a sad face), "I need to be bare butt spanked," and "My twitter today has turned into a virtual Claire's Accessories."

No apologies from either corner yet.
