Justin Bieber announced to his fans and followers via his Twitter account on Christmas Eve that he is officially retiring after the release of his new album "Complete My Journals", according to Yahoo! News on December 25.

He first mentioned his plans to retire during an interview on a Los Angeles radio station on December 17, and then reinforced those plans a week later on his official Twitter account.

On Christmas Eve, the 19-year-old Canadian recording artist tweeted, "My beloved beliebers I'm officially retiring." Shortly after that tweet, Bieber added that he is never leaving his fans and that he will be "here forever".

Sources apparently told TMZ that Bieber was joking about retiring, and in an email to USA Today Bieber confessed that he is going to take next year to really find his sound as an adult.

Bieber's manager also told USA Today that "Next year will be less about the career. I expect Justin to be doing things like snowboarding, backpacking, working on his charities, but more often than not, he'll be in the studio."
