Justice Sotomayor swears in VP Joe Biden (Photos)

Joe Biden was officially sworn in as the Vice President of the United States for his second term on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, by Justice Sonia Sotomayor. You can see more on CNN.

The ceremony was brief and to the point. Before the swearing, prayer was offered at Biden's request.

Justice Sotomayor was running a tight schedule, as she was headed to a scheduled trip to promote her book, "My Beloved World."

Soledad O'Brien interviewed Justice Sotomayor and she expressed that doing the swearing in of the VP was unimaginable.

Jill Biden held the family bible while her husband, Joe Biden was being sworn into office for a second time. The entire process took about three minutes, including the prayer.

Vice President Biden is said to be in a good position to put a bid in for the president of the United States following President Barack Obama.

The ceremonial inauguration takes place Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. The major TV networks will broadcast live events during the day, highlighting memorable moments.
