Sunday, April 27 2014 it was announced that a director for the long-gestating 'Justice League' movie was decided upon.

In a story originally broken by The Wall Street Journal, Warner Bros. President of Worldwide Production Greg Silverman confirmed that Zack Snyder will direct a 'Justice League' film.

Snyder directed the global blockbuster 'Man of Steel' which rebooted the Superman franchise, and is currently in production on its sequel, the untitled 'Batman-Superman' film which is scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2015.

'Man of Steel,' despite worldwide box office success, divided fans and critics alike with its portrayal of the iconic DC Comics character of Superman. Although few can quibble Snyder has a unique cinematic flair, his films are often criticized for lacking depth of characterization. 'Man of Steel' was often criticized by fans and reviewers alike for the depiction of the "Final Battle" in that film between Superman and 'General Zod.'

Snyder further ruffled fanboy feathers with the controversial casting of Ben Affleck as Batman for the 'Man of Steel' sequel.

With the addition of the characters of 'Wonder Woman' and 'Cyborg' recently announced for the 'Man of Steel' sequel, a Justice League movie seemed imminently upon us. Although no official release date for a 'Justice League' movie has been set, a 2017 or 2018 release date seems likely.
