Justice comes after a year for young dog found in bag with his throat cut

It took a year, but police have arrested an Oroville, California man in connection with a case from last April where a young dog was found dead in a duffel bag, according to an article posted on the KCRA.com website today. The dog's throat was determined to have been deliberately slashed.

There was no reason given as to why the dog was killed.

The suspect, Juan Manual Pena, has been charged with using a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime, as well as animal cruelty. KCRA reports that there are also "additional sentence and prior prison enhancements". He is being held on $150,000 bond.
