Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the kitchen

If you are looking for something other than chocolate covered bunnies to stick in your kids' Easter Baskets this year, you can't go wrong with a copy of the DVD movie "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs." Columbia Pictures has teamed up with Sony Pictures Animation to bring this children's classic tale to life.

Based on the book that was written by Judi Barrett, this film brings meal time to a whole new level of originality. The setting for this food folly takes place on the tiny little island of Swallow Falls that has made its mark on the world through their exportation of sardines. When someone in the world suddenly decides that sardines are gross, the town faces an economic downturn from which it fights to recover.

Enter Flint Lockwood (voiced by Bill Hader). Flint is a misunderstood scientist whose past hilarious inventions have all wreaked havoc on the town folks. Flint has invented a machine that changes water into food. Due to a fumbling error during the town's big unveiling for their new look, the machine ends up in the sky and begins raining down showers of delicious food (that do not contain sardines).

Anna Faris plays the beautiful, equally smart and nerdy weather girl Sam Sparks. Bruce Campbell shows his weakness for gluttony as the ever growing Mayor Shelbourne. And even Mr. T and James Caan make appearances in this delightfully satisfying film.

Rating: PG
