The Annual Just Us Girls 5K was held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Sea Girt National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt, N.J.
The morning started out cool and crisp with temperatures on the chilly side barely breaking 40 degrees. But the sun was shining bright and at the 9:30 a.m. start it warmed up a bit.

The runners started on the right hand side of the main road at the camp and the walkers were on the left hand side as they headed south for a route around the facility. There were well over 1000 participants who filled the roads in the camp.
Coming in first and breaking the pink tape was Ashley Meade of Wall in a time of 21:27. She was followed by Emily Friend of Allentown in 21:56 and then Tricia Callahand of Brielle in 22:14. Due to a group of runners taking a wrong turn additional awards were presented to the two who were leading at that time to Ann Marie Romanski of Manasquan and Melissa Arizaldi of Point Pleasant Beach.
For the walkers the first finisher was Maria Paul of Long Branch.
In the Mother/Daughter competition the first finishers were Bethanie Ping of Wall. They were followed by Dotte and Isabelle Guerranio of Manasquan and then Debbs and Riley Forrester of Spring Lake Heights.
After the race awards were presented to the winners. Many of the participants then headed over to the Manasquan Elks Lodge for a post race breakfast..
