Just the right card for Valentine’s Day: What will you buy?

Most holidays are optional when it comes to giving a greeting card except the big three: Birthday, Mother’s Day, and Valentine’s Day.

One can live without a Halloween card, Graduation and maybe even Christmas, but not Valentine’s Day.

In Austin, Texas, twenty American Greetings cards flew off the shelves every second the week before Christmas, and that wasn’t even the number one card giving holiday! Valentine’s Day is, next to Mother’s Day.

The American Greetings website offers free printable greeting cards as well as holiday advice and fun games to play, like Valentine’s Trivia.

Did you know that Valentine’s Day was declared an official holiday in 1537 by King Henry VIII? It started as a church holiday. Today, over 70% of roses are bought by men on Valentine’s Day!

What about the card? Greeting cards are the number one gift on Valentine’s Day according to the US Census Bureau. 65% choose a card over candy, flowers and a romantic dinner. But if a girl plays her cards right, she will more than likely receive all four!

American Greeting’s lists the top 10 thoughtful and unique gifts for Valentines on their website; but you can forget about most of them if you haven’t started already!

Most guys will wait until the last minute to shop and that is why American Greetings Merchandisers will be working around the clock the next three days to keep the shelves full in order for Romeo to take care of their Juliet on the only day set aside every year for lovers (of greeting cards).

Happy Valentine’s Day!
