Kim Kardashian's pregnancy came as a surprise to many, but the most surprised may have been Kim herself. Visiting "Today" on Tuesday, Jan. 15 (embedded), Kardashian revealed that she has fertility problems, just as her sister Khloe does.
Speaking to Savannah Guthrie, Kim Kardashian said:
Khloe has been very open about her fertility issues and I think I was always really kind of quiet about mine, and I have similar issues. It was a pleasant surprise when so many doctors were telling me one thing and then the opposite happens, and that’s just an exciting moment.
Kardashian intimated that the pregnancy wasn't planned, but that it was still treasured.
What I’ve learned in life is -- I was always such a planner, and ... you think your life is going to be a certain way, and the best surprises just happen when you don’t plan.
Along for the "Today" ride was Kourtney, Kim's older sister. As the "experienced" mom of the KK sisters, she had an interesting suggestion for Kim: "co-breast feeding."
[Kourtney] said "in the old days, and maybe we should try this, one sister should babysit all the kids, so I can go out or vice-versa, and whichever sister is babysitting should just breastfeed all the kids that are there.”
To be honest, Kim wasn't too happy with the suggestion, but that's nothing, really. Remember when Selma Hayek breast-fed another woman's baby? She wasn't even related, and the video went viral.
Historically, it's not that unusual. It's just that in this day and age, even breast-feeding your own child gets second glances.
