On October 2, 2013 Just Food, a New York City non-profit will be having its Let Us Eat Local Benefit 2013. This fun food tasting event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Altman Building, 135 West 18th Street, New York, NY.
Now Just Food (www.justfood.org) is a NYC non-profit that connects NYC communities and local farms with the resources and support they need to make fresh, locally grown food accessible to all New Yorkers. Just Food (www.justfood.org) empowers regional farmers and food producers, CSA organizers(Community Support Agriculture) and every day people to both establish and experience healthy food systems, in every New York City neighborhood!
Some of the programs run by Just Food are Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) in NYC, City Farms and Fresh Food for All. Now CSA in NYC supports regional family farmers and creates access to nutritious food for all New Yorkers of all income levels. City Farms provides services and support to community garden groups to start and run successful farmers' markets and Fresh Food for All helps food pantries make fresh, nutritious, locally grown food available to families and individuals in need.
