Just Be Held

Psalm 62:7
New King James Version (NKJV)
7 In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.

How many times in our lives have we heard someone tell us that we have to be strong? Our lives can be total chaos and all we want to do is just break down and cry, but we’re told we can’t. We are told we have to press on and keep going.

What kind of storm are you facing in your life right now? Do you feel as if God has left you standing all alone? Are you trying to glue the pieces of your life back together? You don’t have to. You don’t always have to be strong. You don’t have to continue to allow the chains of your own control weigh you down. You can find freedom, rest and peace in your life by just laying down the control you have. Allow God to have control and be the rock you need. Take a deep breath and fall into His arms. Just rest in Him and let Him hold you.

When we look at the storms that are raging all around us we tend to feel as if God doesn’t love us anymore. We feel totally alone. However, if we will just stop looking at the storm and just focus on the cross on which Jesus laid his life down; we will be able to see that He has always loved us and always will. He is our shelter in the middle of the storms. He wants to just hold us tight all the time, if only we would allow Him to.

Psalm 37:7-9
New King James Version (NKJV)
7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm. 9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth

At times when we feel as if we can’t go any further, we tend to hit our knees and reach out to God in prayer. We just have to remember that answers will not come in our timing. It might feel as if God is never going to answer them. No worries though, He will answer them, and they will be right on time; God’s time. He will create a masterpiece out of the broken pieces of our lives.

Psalm 16:8-11
New King James Version (NKJV)
8 I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. 10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. 11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Think about this. Your life isn’t falling apart into a million pieces. It is actually being put in just the right place. Trust in God and what He has planned for your life. He has your life in the palm of His hand. Stop holding on to all the pieces of your heart and life and just be held by God. He’ll hold your heart and life safely. He’s on the throne, so let Him have all that you’re going through and just be held.
