"You'll love them. You'll hate them. You'll love it. You'll hate it. You'll try to forget. You can't. You'll debate it. Who's good? Who's bad? Who's honest? Who's mad? Here's a clue," says Naples Daily News reviewer Chris Silk. "They're all bad. The altruists in The Altruists at The Laboratory Theater of Florida have a show for you."

Sydney, a soap opera actress, subsidizes a group of slacker do-gooders who spend their days protesting one social cause after another. The do-gooders include Ronald, Sydney’s social worker brother, Cybil, sexually-confused with a lot of anger, and Ethan, who goes to rallies mainly to pick up girls. When Sydney commits a crime and actually needs help, Ronald and his pals “altruistically” pin it on Ronald’s unsuspecting boyfriend.

The Altruists premiered to peals of laughter. Don't miss out on the fun! Performances are on February 27 and 28, as well as March 1, 6, 7 and 8. Tickets are $12 for students, $18.50 for seniors and military on Thursdays, and $22 for adults. They are available for purchase at the door or online HERE. But note: this show is not appropriate for children.

And join the Lab Theater at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 9 for their Season Announcement event. "Be prepared for some great surprises!" touts Artistic Director Annette Trossbach. There is no entry fee, but special discounted season tickets will be available for purchase. Refreshments will also be available. The theater is located at 1634 Woodford Ave. Fort Myers, 33901.
