Just a few days left to register for the Animal Welfare and Care Conference

The Animal Welfare and Care Conference is scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, March 22-23, 2013. This annual event is organized by the Animal Welfare Federation of New Jersey (AWFNJ) and will take place at the Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch, New Jersey.

“We are proud to announce our keynote speaker this year will be Patrick McDonnell, the creator of the Mutts comic strip,” said Rose Tropeano-Digilio. “As a special bonus, Patrick McDonnell will be available to autograph Mutts books purchased during the conference directly after his speech on Saturday, March 23.”

The conference draws animal welfare professionals, volunteers and animal lovers together for two days of education, training and networking opportunities. Attendees learn how to more effectively help animals in their own community and beyond.

“We are pleased to include a special focus this year on disaster preparedness and response,” said Niki Dawson, AWFNJ President and County Animal Response Team Leader. “After last year’s hurricane, the timing is right to both review the response to Sandy and ensure that we continue to improve upon our ability to protect New Jersey’s animals during crises.”
