The $11 million defamation trial involving former Bengals cheerleader Sarah Jones against TheDirty.com will continue tomorrow.
Jurors left today without arriving at a decision.
Today was the third day of the trial in Covington’s Federal Courthouse.
Jones filed a lawsuit against Nik Ritchie and his website, TheDirty.com.
In 2009, TheDirty.com website claimed that Jones had slept with members of the Bengals football team and had STDs.
She says comments on the website were false and damaged her reputation. Eric Deters is representing Jones. He asked the jury to take a stand against the website and put them out of business.
Ritchie’s attorney, Alex Ward, said Jones shouldn’t get $11million because, “She’s a good actress, but not that good.”
Ward also said Jones couldn’t prove she didn’t have any STDs because she didn’t’ know how to be truthful.
Ritchie said he receives thousands of submissions daily and he can’t possibly check the accuracy of the facts.
