The Core main gallery is hosting an open entry juried exhibit. The theme of the exhibit is “Flora/ Fauna/Figura.” The call for entries specified that they were looking for “colorful, sensuous” works “inspired by nature’s curves.” The exhibit runs until September 29.
Karen Haugan Tomlinson is one of the jurors. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Denver; her degree is in painting and art education. Both local and national juried exhibitions have included her paintings. She has had several teaching positions including at the Art Student League of Denver, ArtReach and The Arvada Center in addition to public and parochial schools in the Metro area.
Heather Delzell is the other juror. She has taught art for more than 15 years. She instructed fine art at the Denver School of the Arts as well as the Art Students League of Denver. She also conducts workshops. Notably, she founded the Children’s Center for the Arts and its “Tracks” program held in the summer. She currently directs both.
Core held an artist’s reception Friday, September 13 from 5 to 9 PM. Core also hosts a 2nd Saturday each month during which time you can collect artists’ trading cards. The monthly event runs 10 AM to noon.
