With spring in full swing, visitors and Dallas residents alike should be taking in the sights of the beautiful lanscape and gardens at the Dallas Arboretum. This weekend art lovers will get to experience 75 national and local artists showcasing artwork inspired by nature. Very fitting for Earth Day or Earth Week beginning this week. Artwork such as paintings, sculptures, mixed media pieces, photography and so much more will be on sale to the public. Artists from the Creative Arts Center of Dallas will have art demonstrations and acoustic music will fill the garden. This event is open to the public on April 26th and April 27th.
Members of the Dallas Arboretum will get a sneak peek on April 25 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. which includes music and beverages for purchase along with art for purchase. To attend, members will show their membership cards at the ticket booth for complimentary admission.

A members-only preview will take place on April 25 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Members will have a chance to preview and shop at a sneak peek, which includes music and beverages for purchase, before Artscape opens to the public onSaturday, April 26. To attend, members will show their membership cards at the ticket booth for complimentary admission.
There is also a giveaway for a family four pack going on at the blog Dallas Single Mom. The giveaway is for a four pack of tickets and ends on April 24th.
Artist Fred Prescott from Santa Fe, N.M. will showcase his colorful and kinetic sculpture work. His multi-dimensional artwork has been shown local at the annual Cottonwood Arts Festival in Richardson and he has been commissioned for work with both private and corporate collectors, including Warner Brothers, Walt Disney Co., Porsche, and the Chicago Bulls, among others. Many of his sculptures portray larger than life animals and can be seen at public parks. There will be other artists such as Lyn Foley, a Texan from Round Top who is an award winning artist and jeweler along with Kathy Steckel, a formed glass artist from Colorado.

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is located near the beautiful White Rock Lake at 8525 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas 75218. The Arboretum is open daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. General admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 65 and older, $10 for children 3-12 and free for Arboretum members and children two and under. There is an additional cost of $3 per person for entrance into the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden. On-site parking is $10.
