To review, when a planet is retrograde it appears to go backwards and often forms repeat aspects to other planets, sometimes going over the same place three to five times. I call them do-overs. Usually when a repeat aspect forms the effects aren’t so radical or difficult as the first time. You get used to the different energy and subconsciously know what to expect. I have observed this with Pluto for example. The big stuff happened during the first transit to my Mars in Capricorn and after that things quieted down.
During this month Jupiter is at the end of the retrograde period stationary in 6-7º Gemini. When a planet is beginning a retrograde period it is called stationary and so it is when the planet is about to go direct. Jupiter takes a year to travel through a sign and usually has only one retrograde period in that sign. Once in a while a second retrograde period can happen over the cusp of two signs.
This time Jupiter has recently been trine to Mars, sextile Uranus and square Neptune. Mars is in high gear. When Jupiter goes direct Mars will be on his way into Pisces, joining Neptune and squaring Jupiter. Mars and Neptune square Jupiter should be interesting. There could be unusual weather with rain, dense fog and floods. Neptune rules fog. Pisces is a water sign. Today there is a pea soup fog hanging over Bergen County and most of New Jersey and New York. There has been a lot of fog lately.
There will more daydreaming, drinking, sneaking around, bad investments, careless spending and a tendency to fritter the hours away. People can disappear or run away. Watch out for fraud. You may be easily tempted and seduced. Secret affairs may be revealed with unpleasant consequences. The imagination will be stimulated however and this is a good time to write, paint and play music. Meditate or do yoga. When Mars contacts Neptune it’s best to keep a more spiritual approach to your activities. If you pursue a plan that’s purely for your own personal advancement then it will fail. The mutable signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces should especially take heed.
Jupiter remains in a sextile to Uranus, an aspect of less impact but opportunities and unexpected events can still happen. Some people may suddenly leave their jobs or relationships and take off for uncharted territory. Aries, Gemini and Libra people will be more susceptible. Jupiter is weak in Gemini but still has an expanding effect.
Your life may be boring right now. You need some excitement. You are anxious for change and nothing is happening. It’s probably because Jupiter is stuck in a rut. Don’t worry. From January 30 on and throughout the spring and summer the pace will pick up.
