Junior roller derby girl you rock

Flat Track Roller Derby is quickly gaining popularity and recognition nationwide.   There are over 200 women leagues adult 38 mens leagues and that is not even including the co-ed teams in the United States and as many as 15 (and still growing) Junior Roller Derby Leagues cropping up around the country.   Roller Derby is here to stay.

The junior girl roller derby team take on girls between the ages of 7-18, give or take a year and gives them a chance to play in a cutting edge sport.   The junior leagues are run by the womens' leagues which are owned and operated and even marketed by the women on the roller derby teams.  So it is a great learning experience for the girls and their roller derby experience and lessons learned transfers over into every aspect of their lives.   Also making for a very well rounded young lady that is confident, poised and balanced.

Even if you have never been on skates before in your life they will take you and groom you with exercise, the rules of the game and team spirit.   Junior roller derby provides a safe learning environment free from the stresses of competition on over drive, that you will find in some sports.  This is not powder puff football and their is not crying in roller derby either.

What,  you do not see a team near you, then start your own.  Find a place to practice and advertise for girls.  Oh and boys you can start your own league too.

Everyone on the team has a job to do on the track and involvement in running the team. If you are interested get your young rollergirl to the nearest team site, make some calls and go watch some bouts and join in on the roller derby games, and of course, be your own hero.
