In this week's new releases, we start off with the action-packed From Paris With Love starring John Travolta as the gun-toting trigger-happy special agent who is hunting for terrorists and leaves a trail of bloody dead bodies in his wake. His shoot first, ask questions later policy makes his rookie partner reminisce of better days behind the desk. Next we have Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island where Leonardo DiCaprio plays U.S. Marshall Teddy Daniels. He arrives on Shutter Island's Ashecliff Hospital with his partner to investigate a patient's disappearance. While there, he is looking for another missing patient, a man who was responsible for his wife's death. Daniels' psyche begins to waver as he digs deeper into the mental hospital's secrets, leaving him questioning who he can trust and whether if he will ever leave the island. Then we have two television series released on DVD. Nip/Tuck: The Sixth and Final Season celebrates the end of its provocative seven-year series with the 100th episode. Even McNamara/Troy cannot escape an economic downturn where plastic surgery becomes financially optional. With declining incoming revenue, building tension between Dr. Sean McNamara and Dr. Christian Troy and a new plastic surgery alternative on the horizon, it may be time to close McNamara/Troy's doors for good. Need not despair, they still have a few dicey medical procedures left to make over their clientele. Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Complete Seventh Season continues Larry David's comical mishaps as he finds himself involved in more socially offending and awkward situations. Soon after starting a romantic relationship with Loretta Black, he needs to find a way to break up with cancer-ridden Loretta. Upon a chance encounter with Cheryl, Larry's wife who left him in the previous season, he decides a Seinfeld reunion special may be the answer to winning her back. Both Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld fans will be in for a special treat as the Seinfeld cast gathers together and provide whole new heap of laughs! In anticipation of the new film The A-Team (2010) coming out on June 11, 2010, the original television series The A-Team: The Complete Series is finally released on DVD in a limited edition box set that is a replica of the A-Team's signature GMC black van. Finally, we welcome the first U.S. Blu-ray release of The Illusionist and Caddyshack celebrates its 30th anniversary with a DVD re-release and a first-time Blu-ray release.
In Pierre Morel's From Paris With Love, James Reece (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) leads a dual life. He has a cushy desk job as the personal aide to the U.S. Ambassador Bennington (Richard Durden) in France with a beautiful French girlfriend Caroline (Kasia Smutniak). He is also moonlighting as a low-ranking CIA operative and dreams of the day he will be promoted to full agent status with more action-packed responsibilities. When the CIA offers Reece his first senior-level assignment with promise of becoming full agent status upon completion, he is ecstatic until he meets his new trigger-happy psycho partner, special agent Charlie Wax (John Travolta). Wax has been sent to Paris to uncover and stop a terrorist attack. Armed with Wax's vast selection of weapons, including "Mrs. Jones" that he sneaked through Paris customs, he leads a "green" Reece on an explosive bloody shooting spree through Paris' underworld to trace the drug money leading to the terrorists. The whole ordeal leaves Reece beginning to think his mundane desk job is much more desirable, until he finds out he is a target. Leaving him no way out, they forge ahead and hope to learn the terrorists' plot in time to stop them before Paris is blown up to pieces.

"I love it when a plan comes together!"
"Ten years ago / In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum-security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire The A-Team."

Oscar-nominated The Illusionist (2006) comes to Blu-ray in the U.S. for the very first time. The film is loosely based on Steven Millhauser's story "Eisenheim the Illusionist." It stars Ed Norton as the magician Eisenheim and Jessica Biel as Sophie, the girl he loves. As a youngster Eisenheim fell in love with magic and Sophie, the Duchess von Teschen. Due to his low social standing, they were forbidden to be together. Fast forward many years later, they meet again at the turn of the century in Vienna. He is now a powerful magician and she is engaged to the Crown Prince Leopold (Rufus Sewell). Using masterful illusions, Eisenheim tries to free Sophie from her betrothal obligations and undermine Leopold's plot to take over the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Will Eisenheim succeed or will the suspecting Chief Inspector Uhl (Paul Giamatti) see through his acts?
