In Seth MacFarlane's Family Guy Volume 8, the dysfunctional Griffin family, consisting of father Peter, mother Lois, son Chris, daughter Meg, baby Stewie and pet dog Brian, return to entertain us with more hilarious episodes. Joining them are sexaholic Glenn Quagmire, Joe and Bonnie Swanson and many other neighbors on Spooner Street including Channel 5 WQHG Tom Tucker and pharmacist Mort Goldman. Other recurring characters include news anchor Dianne Simmons, reporter Tricia Takanawa, weatherman Ollie Williams, Principal Shepard, Mayor Adam West and elderly pedophile Herbert. Cleveland Brown returns for a few guest appearances after leaving to do his spin-off The Cleveland Show.
There is no subject taboo to Family Guy Volume 8. Lois goes to work at FOX News to do an exposé on Michael Moore. Meg becomes a born-again Christian. Brian gets Mayor Adam West to legalize marijuana and Quahog goes on a marijuana binge. Peter gives Stewie steroids. Peter imagines his family and friends in three parodies of Stephen King's works: Stand By Me, Misery and The Shawshank Redemption. Peter learns in his past life he was Griffin Peterson, founder of Quahog, who loved Lady Redbush from 17th century England that was ruled by King Stewart. Stewie and Brian use a remote control to travel to parallel universes; in one universe humans are subservient to dogs. Peter has an affair with a cardboard cutout of supermodel Kathy Ireland. Peter becomes an anti-Semetic when he discovers Lois' mother was a Holocaust survivor. Mayor Adam West is a sleeper agent who launches a nuclear missile at the United States. Miley Cyrus is an android that kidnaps Chris' Evil Monkey. Peter communicates with the ghost of Ronald Reagan. Quagmire discovers he is the father to a baby daughter, gives her up and goes to steal her back from her adoptive family. Brian and Stewie create clones of themselves. A drunk Brian runs over another dog and buries the body.

From the creators Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman, American Dad! Volume 5 continues the over-the-top adventures of conservative Republican CIA agent Stan Smith and his family consisting of ditzy wife Francine, left-wing activist daughter Haley, nerdy son Steve, alien Roger and goldfish Klaus.
Stan steals Roger's idea to have a telethon to raise money for CIA's torture devices after the Democrats redirected the funds to address inner city children literacy issues. Roger and Steve make a porno. Roger spends times with other families, cheating on the Smith family. When Langley Falls bans trans fats, Stan uses Steve as a mule to transport trans fat across county lines. Steve and his gang get revenge on Etan Cohen for hitting on Steve's girlfriend, Debbie, but then get in trouble with the Rabbi. Stan ends up in the doghouse when Francine learns he has a back-up wife. Steve joines the junior football team to make Stan proud, but Steve and Roger exact revenge when Stan becomes the head coach and kicks his son off the team. Nothing is worse than weiner revenge when Stan discovers Roger's reason on Earth and cannot stop laughing.
