NOW it's spring.
Even though other iconic seasonal spots have been open for several weeks -- the Snowman in Troy, Jack's Drive-In in Wynantskill, etc. -- much of the Capital Region awaits what happened today before accepting the new season: the opening of Jumpin' Jack's Drive-In.
The popular drive-in, located in Scotia's Collins Park on the Mohawk River bank just across the bridge from Schenectady, has endured floods, time and changing tastes for 62 years.
The formal address is 5 Schonowee Avenue, Hours: 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily. Phone: 393-6101.
Note: Although the establishment is known for very reasonable prices for its burgers, fish fries, clams, shrimp, shakes, etc., don't believe the prices on its online menu. Curious? Go here to check them out.
