On Thursday, September 23 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm, Pump It Up will be partnering with the Pajama Program for a Jump N’ Jammies night. Simply bring a new pair of pajamas to Pump It Up, and your entrance is free! Or you can make a $10 donation per attendee.
Established in 2001, the Pajama Program is a non-profit organization providing new pajamas and new books to children in need, many of whom are waiting to be adopted. Realizing something as basic as cozy new pajamas is not a nightly occurance for children in foster care, Pajama Program founder, Genevieve Piturro, has made it her life’s mission to provide these simple comforts to as many children as she can. Having gifted over 598,000 pajamas to kids in need, the resolve is strong and holding events such as benefits and pajama drives really helps this organization soar.
Partnering with Pump It Up for a Jump ‘N Jammies night seemed an obvious fit for Jenner and Larry Crema, owners of the Pump It Up franchise in Morgan Hill. When they were approached by two Pajama Program local chapter members to host this fundraising event, there was no hesitation. “The idea that some kids may not have something as necessary and comforting as a pair of nice pajamas is heartbreaking,” says Jenner Crema. “If we can help out even a few kids with this simple gift of comfort and care, then it will be worth it.”
If you're planning to attend, don't sit back while the kids have all the fun. “We're asking that all attendees come dressed in their own pjs to get into the spirit!” Crema playfully insists. After all, what could be more fitting than kids and parents donating pajamas while wearing their pajamas?
While this perfect partnership has come together, they now need your help to make the pajama drive a success.
