July Mustang of the Month

Today I bring you the July 2010 Mustang of the Month, in cooperation with the folks from the Mustang Owners Club of South Eastern Michigan (MOCSEM). Last month, we featured a 2006 Mustang owned by April and Craig Zygmunt and this month we look at another “couples car” with this pristine 1965 Ford Mustang owned by Kent and Melissa Palmquist.

From the outside, the Palmquist’s 1965 Mustang looks like a spotless example of the early days of the famous pony car but this classic Mustang features a newer carbureted 5.0 mated to a T5 manual transmission. The Palmquist’s had this to say about their 1965 Mustang:

We purchased the car from Scott City, Missouri in July of 2008. (the same month we joined MOCSEM)

The previous owner's father had accomplished a frame off rotisserie restoration a few years before we purchased the car.

The engine is from a 1985 Mustang 5.0, the transmission is a T-5 five speed, it has a 600 Holley 4- barrel carb, Edelbrock performance intake, Flowmaster exhaust, long tube Hooker headers, a dual point distributor, Cragar SS wheels, and 3:55 gears.

We enjoy taking the car to cruise-ins and any other summer events.
