July fragrance of the Month: Tocca and Paco Rabanne

Fragrances featured in the story

Each month the beauty examiner is going to feature two fragrances: One for the ladies, one for the guys. Check back monthly for fragrance updates to find the one that best fits your fragrance personality.

As summer heats up fragrance options need to match the mood of a summer breeze or a moonlight beach stroll. Below are great options for both the ladies and the gentlemen.

When you close your eyes and think of summer, one might think of strolling through a wide, open field of wild flowers looking for a clear patch to set down a picnic basket for a leisurely summer lunch. Now capture that essence and Tocca has bottled it with their Simone Eau de Parfum ($68). Like all Tocca fragrances, Simone is a unique, imaginative, classic perfume adding to its distinct set of characters in a gorgeous, simple bottle. Simone sparkles with top notes of crisp apple, juicy watermelon, lemon and calypsone. Rose petals, freesia, ylang-ylang balance out the sweetness for a touch of floral. The base is a blonde woods, amber, and lactones for a creamy, smooth finish.

Conquer your fragrance rut with Invictus by Paco Rabanne ($82). Just introduced for the fellas this sweet, but masculine fragrance is the perfect option for men this summer. It is a fresh and sensual scent that combines land and sea. This happens when bay leaf mixes with grapefruit zest. The masculine quality is from the base of amber, guaiac wood, ambergris, and patchouli. The cologne is in a trophy bottle to help remind each man of the champion he is. It is currently available at Macy’s with a wider release this autumn.
