Independence Day is a federal holiday celebrated on the 4th of July each year, this is our most important national holiday, when we traditionally observe it with parades, band concerts and fireworks.
It was on July 4 1776 when delegates from the 13 colonies adopted the 'Declaration of Independence' a document that spelled out the charter of Freedom and the principles tha nation was founded on.
In his famous letter to his wife Abigail, John Adams wrote "Yesterday the greatest Question was decided, which ever was debated in America, and a greater, perhaps, never was or will be decided among Men. A Resolution was passed without one dissenting Colony 'that these united Colonies, are, and of right ought to be free and independent States, and as such, they have, and of Right ought to have full Power to make War, conclude Peace, establish Commerce, and to do all the other Acts and Things, which other States might rightfully do" Here is some of the text from The Declaration of Independence
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness"

KABOOM on July 4 is the July 4th fireworks spectacular at the Fairplex in Pomona. The nighttime programming has been a crowd pleaser since its inception in 2002, and puts the boom in KABOOM with the Monster Truck and Big Air Freestyle Motocrossat at 8 p.m; the firework show at 9:20pm one of the largest and most spectacular fireworks shows in California put on by 'Pyro Spectaculars by Souza', and varied entertainment.
General admission is $16 and is first come first seated; trackside bleachers $19.50, and Reserved box $22, to this add a $1 service fee per admission. A Buffet meal will be served ranging in price from $21 - $46 per personm and parking is $10. Visit here to purchase tickets.
2. Mariners Park

The July 4th Parade begins at 10:30 at the corner of Commodore and Mariners Drive, ending in the Mariners park at 11 am where the celebration will run until 2 pm. Wristbands for children 5 years and older cost $15, and for toddlers under 5 years $10. They give admission to all the many attractions, all day, including the rock wall climbing, bungee run, the maze, and the games in Carnival Row. Special tickets will be sold at the event for an opportunity to win prizes.
3. Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina

Also in Newport Beach, in Back Bay, there will be another July 4th celebration from Noon to 10 p.m. This Independence Day celebration includes a variety of entertainment, live music by KC and the Sunshine Band, Artisians and Merchant booths, and a food truck contest. 4. San Clemente Pier

This year the City of San Clemente will hold there annual, free, 4th of July Fireworks Show at at 9 p.m at the beautiful pier. This is a popular event so plan on arriving early and get a good spot to enjoy the fireworks. Need more information call (949) 361-8200.
5. Joint Forces Training Base

Los Alamitos, Calif
The city of Cypress is joing forces with Los Alamitos to hold a Fireworks celebration for the 4th of July at the Joint Forces Training Base. The event will feature not only a spectacular fireworks show but they will also have live entertainment, a fun zone for kids, and food. A Government identification is required for all adults who wish to attend, call (714) 229-6700 for information. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited, but remember your lawn chairs and blankets.
