According to a Sept. 29 AP report, boxing results for the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Bryan Vera full fight video highlights a controversial unanimous decision victory in favor of "El Hijo De La Leyenda."
Chavez Jr., made his return to the ring following a yearlong hiatus, but with no shortage of controversy. In the end, the three judges sitting ringside scored it 96-94, 97-93 and 98-92 in his favor, but those in attendance, strongly disagreed.
"I definitely won seven or eight rounds of the fight," Chavez said as he was showered with boos from a sold-out crowd at the StubHub Center in Cason, Calif. "I was very close to knocking him out like three times in the fight."
CompuBox numbers show that Vera, who threw more than twice as many punches, was indeed the busier, more aggressive fighter. The Mexican-American landed 176 of his 734 punches compared to Chavez's 125 of 328 figures.

"This is the best performance of my career," Vera said following the boxing results. "The weight was never an issue. The game plan was exactly what we did. I was never hurt during the fight."
Nevertheless, Chavez Jr. bounced back from his loss to Sergio Martinez, improving his record to 47-1-1, while Vera dropped to 23-7 in his pro fighting career.
