Just as "General Hospital" fans have been wallowing in the enjoyment of fan favorites returning to the show, TVline.com reported on Wednesday that Julie Marie Berman has opted to exit the show and has already shot her final episode on Feb. 26.
Since joining the show in 2005 as the daughter of super couple Luke and Laura, Berman became an instant fan favorite as her character Lulu had to deal with the pressure of being the daughter of a legendary couple and the challenges of growing up.
Her talent as an actress earned her two Daytime Emmy Awards in 2009 and 2010. Berman first made her announcement in the upcoming issue of "ABC Soaps in Depth" and has confirmed the news on Twitter.
In her statement to fans she tweeted:
"Hi everyone...yesterday was one of the hardest days of my life. It hurts to let go of Lulu. Thank u for letting me into ur homes & hearts. X"
Multiple reports are saying that the role will be recast although there has not been any confirmation but viewers will undoubtedly miss Julie Marie Berman in the role of Lulu Spencer Falconeri. Much luck goes out to the actress in her future endeavors!
There is no news as to when Berman will last be seen on air.
