Baltimore's Julie Bowen has been a very busy mom, on TV and off. On ABC's hit show Modern Family, head of household, Claire Dunphy, Bowen's alter-ego, and the rest of the ensemble cast have been making audiences consistently laugh at this loveable, self-aware family. In fact, on February 24, when ratings were announced, the show was the solid number one ranked show on ABC. It seems this television family will continue letting viewers in on its hilarious lifestyle for as long as they're invited.
Amazingly energetic, between working on the set, attending awards shows and after-parties, and giving endless interviews that go along with the 'winning' territory, this real-life mom of adorable twin boys took them to see the Harlem Globetrotters in action at L.A.'s Staples Center. Looking even more gorgeous in her real-life role, it seems that this whirlwind lifestyle agrees with her. A photo in the current Us Weekly shows the twins having a great time watching the crazy hoops' antics and enjoying quality time with mom.
After picking up the Best Supporting Actress Award at last fall's 2011 Emmy Awards, the accolades just keep on coming for Bowen and just about everyone associated with the show. Clearly this "acting family" functions better than most real clans as they won Best Television Series-Musical or Comedy Award at the Golden Globes in January. Ms. Bowen was nominated for Outstanding Performance By a Female Actor In A Comedy Series by her peers at Screen Actors' Guild Awards (SAG) as were several fellow cast and crew.
The success of the show has had Ms. Bowen walking down several red carpets this season in an array of beautiful gowns. This month she appeared in Vogue's Runway to Red Carpet layout in Naeem Khan , a dress she wore to a Golden Globes kickoff party. She wore Temperely of London to the SAGs joking that she felt like the teen-boy version of Sofia Vergara when they stood together on the red carpet.
On her Twitter, @itsjuliebowen, she explains it was challenging primping for the January 29th event while her boys were sick. Then, a few tweets later she shows pictures of a trip to the beach and then, skiing with her boys and extended family. She may be mom to TV's Dunphys, but it is obvious that Hollywood matriarch role ranks far behind the top-rated real one.
