Julie Adams will compete in the Metropolitan Opera Auditions finals

As I reported last week, Julie Adams, soprano and alumna of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM), participated yesterday (March 23) in the Semi-Finals of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. This morning I am happy to announce that Adams is one of nine singers that advanced to the Finals. From this elite group, five singers will be selected as Grand Winners, each receiving a cash prize of $15,000. Each of the remaining Finalists will be awarded $5000.

The Grand Finals Concert will take place this coming Sunday, March 30. The concert will begin at 3 p.m. Eastern time (noon here in San Francisco). This will be broadcast live over the Metropolitan Opera Radio Network. However, that live broadcast is not, at the present time, listed on the SiriusXM Satellite Radio schedule or the schedule for the Live Stream service of The Metropolitan Opera; and KDFC confirmed by telephone that they will not be broadcasting the concert.
