LOS ANGELES – It was a night for Hollywood starlets to show off their chosen fashion statement, however it was Dancing With the Stars professional andFootloose star Julianne Hough who picked out a knock-out backless dress that wowed the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards Wednesday night.
Lea Michele who picked up the award as the best TV comedy actress for “Glee,” also looked amazing in a gorgeous dress that was dripping in fringe.
Host Kaley Cuoco (“The Big Bang Theory”) opened the 38th annual show as Neil Patrick Harris got big laughs during an audience skit with Cuoco.

Pop singer Katy Perry was the biggest winners who picked up five People’s Choice Awards that included best female music artist. After a very public break-up with British actor-comedian Russell Brand over the last two weeks, Perry made the decision not to be at the awards show.
Perry told her fans on Twitter, "I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed!"
A few of the movies that picked up some awards were “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” and “Bridesmaids.” Potter won four awards that included best movie and favorite ensemble cast while "Bridesmaids" won best comedy movie and "Water for Elephants," won best movie drama.
A totally fan-driven award show, the People’s Choice awards were handed out in more than 40 categories that covered film, music and television. At least 230 million public votes were generated online via texting and social media websites that decided who would get the coveted awards.
