Julianne Hough returns to "Dancing with the Stars" on Oct. 7 to serve as a guest judge, the ABC television network announced on Tuesday.

Hough was a regular member of the cast in seasons 4-8, finishing first as dance partner for first-place winners Apolo Anton Ohno and Helio Castroneves in seasons four and five, respectively.

She has returned as a guest dancer for several seasons, partnering with Adam Corolla, Cody Linley and Chuck Wicks.

In 2008, Hough released a self-titled country album that reached No. 1 on the Billboard country chart and No. 3 on the all-genre Billboard 200.

In October, a new film starring Hough will be released. In addition to Hough, “Paradise” will feature Russell Brand, Octavia Spencer, Holly Hunter and Iliza Schelsinger.

Earlier this year, Hough starred in the movie “Safe Haven.”

In 2012, she starred in “Rock of Ages” after her 2011 film acting debut in “Footloose.”

Her first appearance in a movie was as a dancer in the background in “Burlesque.”
