The 24-year-old talented singer, dancer and actress will grace the cover of the February “Cosmopolitan” issue. In an interview with the magazine, Hough opened up about her childhood abuse. When she was 10, she left her hometown of Utah to attend the prestigious dance academy Italia Conti Academy of the Arts in London where her brother Derek Hough was studying. She says:
"I was abused, mentally, physically, everything.” It got worse "when I started hitting puberty, when I started becoming a woman and stopped being a little girl. This is the farthest I've ever gotten into my London situation. I was told if I ever went back to the United States, three things were going to happen. One: I was going to amount to nothing. Two: I was going to work at Whataburger. And three: I was going to end up a slut. So, it was like, I can't go back. I have to be this person."
Keep an eye out for Hough in “Safe Haven” which opens February 15. Her costar in the movie is Josh Duhamel. The February issue of Cosmopolitan will hit newsstands next week.
