After months of speculation, “Good Morning America” finally revealed on Aug. 21 the new face that would sit at the judges’ table when “Dancing with the Stars” returns next month for season 19. The new face is actually a familiar one – two-time champion Julianne Hough. The seasoned pro spoke to “GMA” on Thursday morning to explain why she decided to return to the ballroom after an 11-year absence.

Juilanne Hough competed on “DWTS” for four seasons with partners Apolo Anton Ohno (1st place), Helio Castroneves (1st place), Adam Corolla (9th place), Cody Linley (4th place), and Chuck Wicks (6th place). Hough, Cheryl Burke and Kym Johnson are the only female pros to win the coveted mirror ball trophy twice. The record goes to Julianne’s brother Derek, who has won a whopping five times.

As posted by People Magazine, Hough is excited to return to “DWTS,” but realizes that her comments can be a bit candid. On Aug. 21, she went into further explanation about her choice to return by stating...

DWTS has always been a part of my family. I mean that’s where it all began for me, so it just kind of made sense. I felt like it was the right time and the right kind of opportunity.

When asked what she is most excited about concerning her return to the ballroom, Hough mentioned the camaraderie among the judges (Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba). She added that she would be fair when judging her own brother, just like she was when she served as a guest judge last season. “It’s not about Derek and the pro dancers. It’s about a collaboration and a team effort,” she stated on “GMA.” To see Julianne Hough's interview, head to the "GMA" website.

“DWTS” returns with a season premiere on Monday, Sept. 15. The new cast will be announced on “GMA” on Thursday, Sept. 4. According to the Christian Post on Aug. 20, the new slate of pro dancers includes three fresh faces: Artem Chiqvintsev, who joined the troupe last year and worked several seasons on “Strictly Come Dancing;” Keoikantse Motsepe, who toured with “Burn the Floor;” and Allison Holker, a “So You Think You Can Dance" all-star.

In the meantime, cast rumors are abundant. The latest, as posted by Epoch Times on Aug. 20 include country singer Jessie James Decker, Bachelorette Andi Dorfman and her fiancé Josh Murray, American Ninja Warrior star Kacy Catanzaro, and US men’s national soccer goalkeeper, Tim Howard.
