Julianne Hough was abused as a child. The dancer, actress and Ryan Seacrest's significant other made the shocking revelation in the upcoming print issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, which hits newsstands on Jan. 8, 2013.
According to a Jan. 2, 2013 report by People magazine, Julianne Hough was abused when she left home at the tender age of 10 to study dance in London. With her parents in Utah, there was no one to protect the young dancer from the adults who abused her mentally and physically.
Hough studied at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London, which is the oldest theater arts training school in the world, having been founded in 1911. It was there that Hough discovered both the joys of professional dance and the horror of abuse. She explained, "I was 10 years old looking like I was 28, being a very sensual dancer." Hough continued, "I was a tormented little kid who had to put on this sexy façade because that was my job and my life. But my heart was the same, and I was this innocent little girl. I wanted so much love." It's shocking to learn that the former "Dancing With the Stars" instructor was sexualized at such a young age.
With her beauty, poise, talent and grace, one would never expect that Julianne Hough was abused as a child. Hough's admission serves as a shocking reminder that abuse can happen to anyone, and it does. Hough said she has forgiven those who wronged her. She is currently enjoying a safe and loving relationship with Ryan Seacrest whom she began dating in 2010.
